I enjoyed this read! I like how the shadow represents a past self the character is trying to move on from. Many of us want to forget that person, but the thing is, it's a part of our story. The only way to heal from past traumas is to face them...that's how we gain freedom and peace. It's not easy, but ignoring it only makes it harder.
